Passage: Luke 1:26-38
You may have heard of Joni Erikson Tada and the tragic injury that changed her life forever making her a quadriplegic. For a time after the accident she wrestled with anger and suicidal thoughts. She didn’t understand why God had allowed the accident to happen. She even cried out to God telling Him that she couldn’t and didn’t want to live that way. However, rather than staying stuck in self-pity, she came to trust the Lord and have a joy filled life. She has been an encouragement to those with disabilities, and God has used her in ways she never expected.
Has life taken an unexpected turn for you? Do the uncertainties feel overwhelming? In our text today, Mary received some unexpected news that put her in an impossible situation, yet she found life and joy. How did she get there? How can you find life and joy in impossible situations?
