Passage: The Gospel According to Luke Luke 8:40-56
Have you ever tried to explain something to someone only to have them blow you off thinking they already knew all about the information you were going share with them? They might be totally convinced that they have the answer or know what is right. As we read the gospels and their familiar stories about Jesus’ miracles etc., you may think you’ve got it. Is that how you approach the gospels? You may a think that you know all there is to know about Jesus. However, ask yourself, “did I live it this week? It’s one thing to know it in your head but does your heart believe it.
Luke wants us to “get it.” (Luke 1:4) In this passage, Luke shows us two miracles. The woman who came to Jesus for healing shows a weary faith. She had suffered for 12 years. Jairus shows us a troubled faith. His daughter was about to die. What happens when weak faith meets a strong Savior?
