Passage: Luke 4:14-30
There are churches meeting together all over the globe, with people who love to hear the Bible read and preached, but hate Jesus. There are people who display good works and values, but when confronted with Who Jesus really is, they despise Him. Is that hard to believe?
When people in Nazareth heard Jesus speak, they were filled with wrath about His teaching. Throughout the book of Luke we will see people display violent rejection of Jesus. There were a lot of people who rejected Jesus. Could they have been right? Remember, Luke wrote this book so that we could have certainty about Jesus. Luke explained why people rejected Jesus with encouragement and a warning.
