Passage: The Gospel According to Luke Luke 9:18-36

Have you ever seen someone in a store or restaurant and thought they were someone you knew? Has anyone ever mistaken you for someone else? These cases of mistaken identity can end up in a humorous way, but sometimes a case of mistaken identity can have serious, eternal consequences. It is of vital importance that we all come to know who Jesus really is.

Jesus spent time on earth addressing the suffering of people. He healed the sick and raised the dead. However, this is not the purpose for which He came. His suffering on the cross and His subsequent resurrection had to come before the crown. The path to the Kingdom is through suffering (or the cross).

1. Know who Jesus is. Vs. 18-22
2. Trust His path to glory. Vs. 23-27
3. Be certain that following Him is worth it. Vs. 28-36
