Welcome

Many visiting our church say one thing over and over – they love the feel of a loving family when they spend time with us. We are a church family that loves meeting new people and helping them find a place in our community! At FBC Upper Marlboro, each person means so much to us no matter what their age, ethnicity, nationality, background, or story. We reflect the tapestry of God’s image-bearers, and it’s exciting to see all of us come together under one name, Jesus Christ.

What to Expect

Children

Christian parents have the unique privilege and responsibility of raising their kids in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Here at FBC KidMin, we are privileged to assist parents with that task with two distinct children’s programs – DiscipleLIFE and Awana.

Classes

God doesn’t just want us to read His Word, He wants us to know it and live its truth. Gathering for Bible study on Sunday morning will help accomplish this. DiscipleLIFE (Sunday School) for adults is a year-round, Sunday Bible Study program. There are classes every Sunday at 9 am (onsite & online) and 12:30pm (online) that are open to all who wish to attend.

Students

The goal of our student ministry is to partner with parents in helping disciple their children. The teenage years for students are often when many of them are really seeking to know “who they are” and we want to come alongside parents and continue to teach our students “Who God Is” and in light of that truth, who the Bible says they are. Our student ministry is a place for students to learn to own their faith and live it out according to God’s word. Learn more about the program and how you or someone you know could get involved.

C.A.R.E Ministries

Our Compassionate Assistance for Relief & Encouragement (CARE) ministries exist to provide love and support to people struggling with life’s challenges. At one time or another, we all need the help of others to see our way through a difficult time. Whether your struggle is physical, emotional, relational, or financial we are here for you and want to help in whatever way we can.

Evangelism & Missions

FBCUM refers to our missions team as the “Acts One 8” team. Jesus tells His disciples in Acts 1:8 “… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We are supporting four international missionaries who need lots of prayer and support. Under our Disaster Relief team, we also provide physical, emotional, and spiritual help to victims of natural and man-made disasters, including floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, and terrorist attacks, in North America. Currently, our church owns and operates a laundry unit that has helped support mud-out and chainsaw crews after hurricanes or floods. Sign up to send letters, sponsor a team, or attend a Missions 101 class to join a trip team.
