Series: The Gospel of Luke: Confidence about Jesus

Glory to God in the Highest

December 21, 2025 | Zach Schlegel
Passage: Luke 2:8-20

What do you consider to be bad news? What do you consider good news? Do you see “bad news” in the proper perspective? Perspective is very important. When we look at Jesus’ birth, it was met with indifference. He was pushed aside with no room in any inn.

Dr. Luke wrote this gospel to Theophilus (as well as us) so that we might be certain about the things of Jesus. Do you waver in your faith? Do you wonder if all of this is true? The response of those in Bethlehem was not the final word. Let’s look at God’s word for a different perspective on the birth of Jesus. How can you be certain that, on the final day, you will not be ashamed at the fact that you’ve trusted in Jesus?

Sermon Outline
