Series: Church: The Pillar and Foundation of Truth

Work, Money, and Worship

June 01, 2025 | Zach Schlegel
Passage: 1 Timothy 6:1-10

We often make certain assessments about what we have the ability to do. We may misjudge or miscalculate those abilities. Some misjudgments or miscalculations result in dire consequences, because we have looked to our own self-sufficiency. We may ask: Do I have enough money to pay the bills? Do I have enough intelligence to get through school? Do I have what it takes to make it? Am I godly enough? The focus is on self.

When we look at godliness and our sufficiency, we must ask. “how can I do the hard things that godliness demands of me?”
