Series: Praying With Paul

Praying for Supply

May 26, 2024 | Mike Rogers
Passage: 1 Thessalonians 3:6-13

There is no doubt about Paul’s sincerity and thanksgiving to God for the spiritual steadfastness of the church in Thessalonica. Knowing that their faith was susceptible to so many potential pitfalls, like various sufferings (vs. 3-4,7), temptation from Satan (vs. 5), and a lack of spiritual maturity (vs. 10). He was overwhelmed with joy when he heard how God had sustained them. Paul's deep desire was to see their continued growth. Paul trusted the Lord for that growth.

Although our time, geographic location, and cultural norms are far separated from that of the church of Thessalonica, our story is one that is quite the same. As Christians seeking to persevere in faith in 2024, we too are anxiously awaiting the return of our Savior and King - Jesus. Although it may look different than theirs, our faith is also susceptible to the same things as the church in Thessalonica. We too need encouragement to remain steadfast and to endure to the end. How do you and I stand fast before the Lord?
