Passage: Philippians 4:10-13
The letter to the Philippians was written approximately ten years after the church was established. It was written by the apostle Paul to encourage them. He loved this church, and they loved him and supported him financially.
If you have your eyes on the things of this world, you can become discontent. Envy is the fruit of discontentment. Discontentment takes our focus off of God and the gospel. Contentment is a heart issue that is not related to circumstances. Yet it is learned through each experience of life. Paul’s circumstances did not interfere with his contentment.
