Passage: The Letter of Paul to the Philippians Philippians 1:3-11
When you think about excellence, what comes to mind? Do you think about achievement or success as the world defines it? Schools, businesses, etc. establish standards so that the people representing
them will know what is expected for excellence. God views excellence differently. He has different standards. If you look to the world for standards, you will be discouraged. Opposition to the standards
of God can also lead to discouragement. You must keep your eyes on God, study His word and strive to obey the truths of God’s word.

2. Trust God to complete His work. Vs. 6-8
3. Pray for discerning love and righteous fruit. Vs. 9-11
