Passage: Psalms 51:1-19
To understand this particular Psalm, we need to look at the situation that led to it. David has sinned. (2 Samuel 11:2 - 21) Then, he tried to cover up the results of his sin. When David’s plan A didn’t work, he went to plan B resulting in the death of Uriah. It looked like David got away with his sin, but he didn’t. Nathan the prophet confronted him. (2 Samuel 12)
