Passage: Malachi 4:1-6
Malachi was a prophet who was preparing the people for the Kingdom of God. His message is as important today as it was in his day. The exiles had returned. It seemed as though God’s people were on the right path, but they were developing a hard-heartedness. Malachi was giving them a stern warning to return to whole-hearted worship.
The worship of God’s people had become hollow. You, too, can go through the motions of worship and yet not truly worship. Has your worship become mechanical? Religion without reverence was common at that time. It can be common today as well. They got comfortable and forgot God. What about you? Are you too comfortable? Have you forgotten God’s place in your life?
God is a holy God. He will exact His perfect judgement on those who reject Him. If you are a believer, God has chosen you.
