I Believe...Help My Unbelief

October 20, 2024 | Danny Ryan
Passage: Mark 9:14-29

A church retreat is a very special time. They can include gospel conversations, special times of teaching and individual time focused on the Lord. These “mountain top experiences” are very special. But it is important to be prepared to come down from the mountain. Returning to the “real world” can be tough. This chapter in Mark contains the ultimate mountain top experience.

Jesus invited Peter, James and John to the top of the mountain where He was transfigured. The three disciples saw Jesus in His resplendent glory talking to Elijah and Moses. They wanted to stay, but they had to come down – they were needed. At some point, you must leave the high point of being alone with God to come down to the reality of earth. You must be prepared.
